Visiting & Living Here

Welcome to Cinderland—welcome to our family. You’re in the right place!

A few things we thought you should know about our community

  • The Place: We have 20 tarp campsites on the land: a common kitchen, one men and one women dorm with 5 beds in each. one central command\ kids space and 16 private camps.
  • The Land: There are plenty of fruit trees and growing veg. Gardens on the land that provide food for the community. What grows on the land, stays on the land
  • Sustainability: Living in an Eco- village means to be conscious about power use. We have seven 80 watts solar panels that charge 7 battery’s to provide electricity for all the camps at night time.We have one 16,000 gallon and one 5,000 gallon water tanks . During the rainy season, nature provide us water, but during drought we must maintain conscious water consumption.
  • Hygiene: Living outdoors in the jungle means being extra conscious about self hygiene, Staphi s a bacteria that lives in the soil, any open wound is an open door for staphto thrive in you’re body so clean and seal open cuts. Make sure to keep food in a ‘food safe zone’ (closed boxes, jars or coolers) to keep all kind of animals and flies away. Drink only filtered water.
  • Weekly Meeting: On Monday evening we all gather together for a community meeting So bring your thoughts, plans and dreams.
  • Our Work Days: In addition to your assigned tasks during the week, Tuesday is our group work day, Tasks include weeding, planting, construction and what ever else needs to be done.
  • Food Gathering: On Friday we go forage for Bananas, Avocado, Coconuts, Oranges, Mac nuts and what ever other fruits are in season. (does not count towards work hours)
  • Your Contribution: We need your work as well as your financial support to keep Cinderland functioning. We are suggesting the following structure for your contributions: if you chose to live in the dorms it is $10 a night or $50 a week or $100 a month and 4 hours/week work, Private camps are $200/month plus 4 hours/week work.

Cinderland is a non-for-profit organization and needs your support to survive. Additional donations in money or in kind are welcome.
