Vision for Clothing

Cinderland’s vision for sustainable clothing includes a shared community shelter used for gathering an abundant amount of clothes for everyone. We have a small scale community closet near the entrance behind the Zen Den dorm we refer to as the “magic closet’.

Be mindful and always reduce, reuse and recycle when you find yourself in the position to do so.

In the very near future we hope to be able to legally grow and manufacture our own organic hemp. The hemp seed grown and harvested will be used as a nutritious food supplement rich in Omega-3 oil, amino acids, protein and fiber. It is considered a “super food”.

If we are able to grow and manufacture our own hemp, it means we will also have the option to experiment with hempcrete.

Hempcrete is a bio-composite made of the inner woody core of the hemp plant mixed with a lime-based binder. Hemp itself is a beneficial crop requiring no fertilizer, weed killer, pesticide or fungicide. It grows so thickly that weeds usually don’t grow. Farmers grow it in rotation with other crops such as barley or rye.
